I have'nt started doing it regularly for now, unless I really feel like doing it when something inspires or upsets me.For the past 2 days I feel terribly upset over the loss of the legend, the icon, the super star I grew up listening to,some one who's music has penetrated all races transcending caste, creed and color. He is Michael Joseph Jackson.Man,I feel like I have lost something.I never met Michael Jackson, but it seems like I was always just a few degrees away from him.Every single soul who has ever dreamt of a career in music has for sure kept MJ as his/her role model.I can recall about 14 years back, during my first year at Montfort school,my dad bought the entire MJ collection called History and I kept listening to it over and over. There is no other forgein artist I have listened to as much as I listened to MJ.There is something about him that stood apart, something about him that forced people to love him.His music sounds modern even today. If you listen to some of the songs from Dangerous which released almost 20 years ago,you will notice that almost all modern producers , even today , has gathered immense influence from his style. The disco danceable beat with a sold baseline, some extra ordinary synth effects, minor tonality, powerful chorus and string section, mind blowing recording...I can go on when I start talking about THE KING.
His songs for sure had elements of surprise and one example is ' They dont really care about us'.In that particular song there is a portion when the guitar lead is introduced like a blast from the rest of the song by just raising the entire volume of the song by couple of db from the rest of the song, this comes in with a beat change.Even today, even today when I listen to it i get goose bumps.Stranger in Moscow is another favorite of mine. The orchestration of that song is unbelievable and MJ's voice, ohhh god.I can go on adding about every song and the list will never end.
I wish I could take a glance of him,who knows he could have said"Hey boy Jakes why don't you produce an Indian song for me".
I will see him no more and he will never say this , but he is right up there inspiring people like you and me to rock the world.
LOVE YOU MICHAEL.

Linked IN

I was reading about the success of one of the most useful social networking sites available,Linked-in.Today it has about 38 million users and are adding about one new member every second. It was motivating to find that Reid Hoffman the CEO is a Stanford Alum .Some points to take were his emphasis on being competent in these fast times. You have to think yourself as an organism competing with other organisms in the eco system. The world is accelerating not for Microsoft's and Google;it's accelerating for individuals and their careers, and in that acceleration its all about adapting quickly.Hoffman says"The trick to do well with these things is to be in a place where people are saying ,Hey ,that's a crazy ass Idea".

It was motivating to find that their new VC of operations is Deepchand Nishar who was the Director of Wireless Products at Google, Deepchand Nishar develops and implements the product strategy for Google's mobile products worldwide. Prior to Google, Deep worked at Siebel Systems where he was a member of the founding team of the Universal Application Network (UAN) business unit which grew to a $40 million a year run rate in its first year. Deep received his Bachelors in Technology with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal. Deep also received a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School where he graduated with highest honors as a Baker Scholar.

Aiff to FLAC

Here's a summary of what I found out, in case anyone is interested.
In the end, I did all my 400+ aiff to FLAC conversions using Peak in batch processing mode.
Then I added tags to all newly created FLAC files using Tag for OS X.
